We'll continue our list of 10 easy tips to stage your Triangle-area home for a quick sale. Last week we discussed the exterior of your home, clutter and personal items. Please consider the additional tips below.
-
Cleanliness
Thoroughly clean every room in your house. This includes vacuuming rugs, mopping floors, polishing chrome, dusting furniture, washing windows, cleaning appliances inside and out, etc. You want your home to look new. Don't forget light fixtures, ceiling fans, mirrors and vents. Not sure if you cleaned everything? Ask a neighbor, family member or friend to do a walk through.
-
Organization
Keep your home organized. Potential buyers will be opening cabinet doors, drawers and closets. In the kitchen, make sure items in drawers are arranged neatly and that packages don't fall from cabinets or the refrigerator when you open the doors. Same is true for the bathroom. Go through all your closets. Again checking to make sure items don't fall out. This ties back to our tips #2 and #3 in part one - removing clutter and personal items.
-
Furniture
Keep a minimum amount of furniture in each room to make it feel comfortable. Remove excess furniture and store it at a rental storage facility. Design the remaining furniture to allow for easy access - no obstacles.
