Compete.com's Top 25 Social Networks: A Clue On Where To Start

By

The following is a list of the top 25 social media “networks” as ranked by traffic (visits per month) in a great retrospective article by Andy Kazeniac of Compete.com “Social Networks: Facebook Takes Over the Top Spot, Twitter Climbs.” This is a retro look at Andy’s original ranking of the Top 25 last year.  Note: Twitter came in at #22 on that list–look at them today.

Realtors and brokers should look to leverage the power of Linkedin, Twitter, and facebook in building their online presence. Although facebook seems a bit off center, there is no denying the fact that they get over 1 BILLION visits per month.

Nice list, but I'm wondering why Active Rain isn't on in.  I understand we're just behind Facebook.

Connie, Active Rain is a well read site no doubt but it does not approach the number of visits the other sites collect each month. If Active Rain did get enough traffic they would have made this list. Facebook received over 1,000,000,000 billion visits last month! If the guys here on the Rain were getting that kind of traffic they would be leaping for joy-as would I.

Great post. Seeing as that there are now so many social networks catering to such a wide range of niches, my biggest problem is finding ones relevant to me and related to my specific interests or product niches. Google seems to be inefficient and returns alot of irrelevant results. A cool resource that I use is this search engine designed specifically to find social networking sites.

Thank You Dean, this is definitely an eye opener for me, as Realtors we have to find the places where we can have a chance of doing business. Consider this "Farming the Internet" and give it a try.

Hi Antonio and Alexia thank you for your comment! Wow what a great pic of you two. Is Dancing with the Stars in your future? I would also suggest you tap into Twitter as it is very powerful and don't forget Linkedin. Thanks for stopping in and providing your feedback.
