I was thinking today that I wish there was a way to put my blog here as well as on my website. Does anyone know of a way to do that? Right new I am blogging twice nearly every day. I actually just finished an article on my website www.homesincedarcity.com about today's real estate market in Cedar City, UT and what people are buying. Maybe readers can go back and forth between this blog and that blog because I thought that one was already a little long, so I'll continue it here.
To summarize my blog on my website, people are buying homes to live in more often now than in 2005 when they were buying more for investment purposes.
To continue in this "active rain.com" blog, buyer's in Cedar City, UT, are typically buying single family homes under $200,000. Many buyers are downsizing. Some are purchasing really attractive townhomes starting at less than $100,000 in order to keep their monthly payments low! We also have buyers who are stretching their budget as far as they can to buy the most home possible. Of course, then they are buying in the higher price ranges. That's how our average stays near $200,000 for Cedar City, UT, real estate sales. There are gorgeous homes in every price range to attract buyers.
Land and lots are not selling as quickly as homes, but we are seeing buyers that are thinking about building since building costs and lot prices have been reduced. We do have some builders that are building for wages rather than profit in order to stay busy, which is making new construction attractive again.
