I have a client right now that needs to move in three weeks. The problem is that we still have not found a place to write an offer! He was determined he needed a short sale. Well I have convinced him that a short sale won't work since his divorce will be final on Monday and he needs to find a place.

Perhaps simply finding a room to move into for a few additional weeks would be the way to go and put his belongings into a storage unit - the other option is to get a rental for 6 months which is something he does not want to do.

At least he already has his preapproval and is even willing to take out a personal loan to make things move faster - so now all we need is to find a place for him.

There is always room at the YMCA.  Seriously though, if he can't find a place at these prices, he is hard to please.  Good luck.

If I was the buyer, I would hate to move twice, first into a rental than into my house. There is so much inventory I am sure you can find him something and than do a pre occupancy so you guys have enough time to close.
