Sometimes that small victory is all you need...

Yesterday afternoon I drove this truck:

Through this:

We've had some crazy rain the last few days here in Fort Wayne and the streets they are a flooded!  I decided that since my truck sits up pretty high I could get through it.  The FIRST time I went through it I was fine, didn't go too fast and had a good laugh.  The SECOND time was the kicker.

I decided that I could take it much faster than the first time...  I was right!  I flew through it, water EVERYWHERE!!!  It was FANTASTIC!!  I laughed and laughed and laughed until I couldn't turn my steering well anymore.  Water got up in the truck and my serpentine belt shot off.  Luckily I was 30 seconds from the office so I nursed it into the parking lot.

I'm no mechanic so I was thinking that I would probably need to call my neighbor to have him come out and help but I though HECK try it yourself, you never know!  So I had my wife run me to the office this morning and I got to work!  It only took me 20 minutes to do it and I was able to do it myself!  I cut my hand but only fell once, but I DID IT!!  Small victories!!!!!

Here's the coolest part, now that I know how to do it I may go see if the water is still there...  THAT WAS FUN!!

It made me think about real estate and how many times I have been unsure and nervous about what I was doing but decided to take it on anyway.  Sure I've fallen down and cut my hand in real estate, but each time I do I get more confidence and know that I can handle more and more.

So next time you see the road in front of you full of water ACCELERATE!!!!  Wait, let me rephrase that....  next time you see an obstacle in your road keep moving forward.  Get out of your head and into the moment.  You can do it.  :)

Hi Jared, In real estate we must overcome all of the obstacles, as we are faced with them on a regular basis.  We must trudge ahead, otherwise we won't make it in this crazy business of ours!  Please be careful!
