I recently had an enlightening conversation with a Professor of Business at Florida State University. He said that he advises his students to purchase and sell real estate as soon as they can afford the venture. Why? I assumed he would give me the same reasons that people are always told to invest in real estate: don’t throw your money away with rent, tax credits, long-term investment opportunities, paint rooms the color you choose, etc. No, this long-term real estate investor pointed to agent weaknesses.
