Have you ever thought that you wanted to sell real estate? Many of us did while in the midst of our first careers and were seriously tempted but decided for whatever reason that the time wasn’t quite right and stayed where we were. But at some point we made the commitment, took our courses, became licensed, interviewed for a broker to work with, found out that not all agencies operate the same way and not all brokers and offices were the same. There are desk fees, advertising costs, MLS fees, continuing education, and more in order to “make a living”. But after we handled those decisions and options and got down to work, we found we really got to know our communities, met tons of new friends we didn’t know in our area, met new people choosing to move to our area, we set our own hours - yes, we even chose to work 60-70 hour weeks, no one made us! We found creative ways to make the job work incorporating our own style, and we found that we loved what we were doing. In spite of down markets, upside down mortgages, short sales, foreclosures everywhere, those that love what they do and are very good at it, are continuing to excel. We know the down market cannot continue, people need and love their homes, families continue to outgrow homes, jobs transfer, and retirees move to sunny areas, so our jobs will go on. I strongly recommend a career in real estate to young people and know of no company that will give you the benefits that Exit Real Estate has created for your advancement. If you are considering going into the field, talk with another Exit agent. It should be part of your research when deciding who you want to work with. We are different! I welcome you comments & questions.

I kind of fell into real estate. I was a home builder and hurt my back very badly. It was the best career move that I could have made! I love it!

You are so right! I have been a teacher and owned a drivers ed school for over 20 years and started to go into real estate for years and never took the plunge. Now that I finally jumped in I LOVE it. It has brought a whole new passion to my life. All things come in their own time I guess. But "I am now at the party and I ain't leavin"!
