Los Gatos Creek Trail, raised portion near Old Town, Los GatosProject blogger is now about a quarter to a third over. Time flies!

During Week Four (April 30 to May 6), we got the Week Two results. Not unexpectedly, the format of my blog, Live In Los Gatos, was mentioned as a place with room for improvement. We knew that, and were working on it.

I would have to say that the BIGGEST accomplishment of Week 4 was in getting a Beta-Banner done. I floated it here in Active Rain for feedback, so the final tweaking is now happening. And hopefully it'll be up before I'm reporting on Week 5! (And thanks to all for the suggestions - I am taking them seriously.)

A CHALLENGE was the fact that Active Rainers left comments on my blog, Live in Los Gatos, about Project Blogger. I didn't want to delete the comments but instead felt I should explain them. That was VERY difficult and akward. In a reverse of normal roles, my oldest child proofread my blog entry about Project Blogger and suggested that I break it into two posts. Good advice!  But I didn't want the only post of the day to be about me. Hence, I ended up doing extra posts.  For week four, I had not seven entries, but 10.

I learned to strategize the order of my posts - to consider how things look strung together - after putting a piece on a local nudist colony adjacent to one about poison oak. Yeow! (I was already cognizant of the fact that I should vary the subject: a little marketwatch, a little local events, a little local history.... But this is thinking of how the pieces of the puzzle fit together for the reader.)

Each week I have tried to read every single post of each apprentice first, and also each mentor. This week I believe I got 100% on everyone. I have tried to leave comments both in their Active Rain and/or "outside" blogs. I'm noticing that some of the other bloggers are very lively, visit my blogs too and make comments. Others seem to have no pulse. (What is up with that?) Maybe they are just busy? (And I am reading many other blogs too.  This is all part of the learning, I figure.)

And you know what?

I'm really, really tired.

On top of all of this blog fun, like the rest of you, I'm still working my real estate practice - and it's spring. It's busy. You cold even say it's frantic.  I try to take a day off each week and this week I didn't get one and now I'm paying the price: I'm really, really tired.

Frances Flynn Thorsen, my blog mentor, told me at the beginning that "it's a marathon, not a sprint". I need to remember that.

So for this week, I'm going to aim at 7 or 8 posts on Live in Los Gatos, not 10.

And maybe even take Mother's Day off!  There's a nice haunted place in Half Moon Bay I've been dying to visit. Doesn't that sound like fun to you?? If you collected ghost stories, like I do, you'd think so :)

Ah, that's what I need in my blog: another post on the haunted spots in Los Gatos. That always wakes the crowd up some!!

Don't work yourself too hard - though I know it's in our blood as Realtors to never stop - day or night. Must blog more, yes it's a marathon but some of us prefer to sprint the whole way LOL

Trader Joes's sells disolvable B-12's that work great.  2 of them in the middle of the day really helps.  I know because I burn the candle at both ends on a regular basis.

Enjoy your Mother's Day, I am looking forward to that post.

Wow laurie love the B12 tip - Mary - thanks for sharing it's really exciting to see so many great things happening in Project Blogger and how it trickles out to improve everyone following it's blog. I for one have learned a ton from you all. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Hi Mary,

I agree that time does indeed fly when you are having fun and this is definately fun.  I also know what you mean about some PB Apprentices being somewhat MIA.  Of course it is indeed the busy season and some folks are busier than others.

I also make a consistent and concerted effort to read everyone's work.  I learn so much from every post and I have enjoyed every step of the process.  I still can't quite get over the fact that if I hadn't found AR when I did none of this would have happened to or for me.  Amazing.  I am so glad that I did find AR because it has allowed me to meet you and all the other folks that I have come to regard as friends and that, I m sure you will agree, is the greatest prize of all.

Take care, help lots of people, keep writing wonderful things and have a wonderful and restful day!

Mary, what an accomplishment so far! if you make the 7-8 posts this week, remember you're still posting way more than a lot of bloggers!

I had no idea you were so far along with the results.  By the time I figured out about the contest it's almost over.  Your posts are great.  I hope we can learn from the rest of the Project Bloggers!!

Abraham - thanks. This week I am going to slow down a little!

Laurie - I will go to Trader Joe's today. Thanks!!

Cyndee - thank you for the encouragement!

Tisza - you are just awesome, always reading and commenting. It's so much
easier to write when you think someone is going to actually read your posts :)

Lisa - it's been fun. I think my husband is hoping that when the contest is
over I'll only post 5 times a week or so...

Tracy - we only have 2 weeks' worth of results so far (we are in week 5 but
weeks 3 and 4 are yet to be judged). But yeah, the contest is a third over
already!
