Thanks Sharon!  Aren't you so kind!  These are schools that my neighborhood feeds to and I can say that they are FANTASTIC schools that, to me, seemed like my boys were in private schools while they attended.

Hi Kristi!  Well, thank you!   We really do have to keep up with the school zones and be able to deliver the information that the consumer needs--all of the public school information can be found on the online CMS site that we share with all of our clients.  Because they must do their own homework regarding schools, we provide this to better assist them with their searches.

Debe - You go girl!  Fabulous post.  I can't tell you how many times the first things buyers ask about are the schools in the area.  Having this kind of information is so important.  You did a great job putting this all together.

Debe - Lots of great information for your readers and folks interested in moving within a specific school zone you have gathered.

I'm always thinking about writing information about our schools, however lately, we had lots of changes in school zones in various neighborhoods and I found real estate agents are more and more reluctant to specify school zones in our MLS when they list properties. Do you face the same issues?

Matt:  Best of luck with yours too!  We have SO many schools here but, I'm working on one of my neighborhoods right now, where I have a listing too, and trying to be sure that the word is out there for this particular neighborhood.  I'm on to the next one... ;-)

Donna:  That's a huge compliment coming from the QUEEN of Localism information!  Same here for the  schools--there are many, many good schools in the area and it's best to have the information at hand for newcomers.

Lori:  Exactly--that was the general idea--give them a good resource to find both a neighborhood, schools AND a home!  Thanks!

Petra:  We do have changes in our zones but, they aren't that frequent--mostly having to change zone areas due to growth and new schools being built--rarely do they rezone for any other reason.  You do have to stay on top of it thought, that's for sure!

I love the shopping cart!!! What a great post about the schools. I think I'm very limited on what I can say here about local schools, other than referring customers/readers to websites...my understanding is that the agency becomes liable if I state "a fact" or personal opinion about the school, and it's found to be less than accurate. I am in one of the last of 2 "Buyer Beware" states, so I guess that accounts for the extreme caution. But, about that shopping cart...can I get one somewhere?? :-)

Mara:  Well, thank you!  Feel free to right click it and save it to your own files--I don't have a problem with that at all!  We are here too--we just refer them to the websites that have all of this information on it--it has test scores, etc.  Have fun with the shopping cart!

Debe, Congrats on a great blog. Too many websites and blogs are missing the boat on schools. You can search a schools homes for sale, by price range or other criteria and lo and behold, not many search results for that parameter. I do not know why, but, typically it is the high school that is most searched.

Chris:  Thanks so much!

Frank:  Thank you too!  Here, the schools are the #1 priority for those moving here--whether they have children or not!  Buyers have resale on the brain, as well they should!  And, you're absolutely correct--the high school IS the most searched.  I think because there are more students in the high schools, which covers a larger population of families with children.  Generally the better elementary and middle feed into the HS too.

Have a great day!
