I was a pretty obedient child. When mom said, "You're going to start piano lessons," I said, "Okay." When mom said, "Go practice the piano," I said, "Okay." When mom said, "Eat your vegetables and then you can practice the piano," I said, "Okay." When mom said, "Go to your room," I begged for her to make me practice the piano instead. (In case you don't know it, I'm a pianist.)

Mom loves animals, as do I. Here's a site that she sent me that has a weekly collection of animal pictures, apparently from around the world. Check it out and enjoy your weekend.

A lesson I wish my own children had observed.  With some resistance I ended up getting my wishes respected but at times it was not as readily accepted as you demonstrated.  I think that is one reason you and your mom are so close and share a good laugh or a passion together ... mutual respect.

Hi Jim - thanks for sharing these photos - and thank your mom too!  I got a kick out of the "perfectly camouflaged" Siberian tiger in the snow.  That camouflage doesn't work too well in the snow like it does in the grass!  Also, as for those pix of Sam the koala:  I saw a more recent photo os Sam cuddling with another rescued koala - they had their arms tightly wrapped around each other.  So cute!

Hi Jim, I love those pics. The baby lions were so pale blond in color. That was surprising as was the white turtle!
