I WILL NOT BE WORKING TOMORROW!

Tomorrow is a National Holiday (At least in my house).

Tomorrow @ 3:30pm Eastern time, in Daytona, Florida a green flag will drop and the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will be underway.  And yes, I will be glued to the television watching the cars go around and around.

Over the years, many people have asked me why I like auto racing.  And I say that it must be something in my male genes.  Now don't get me wrong.  There are plenty of women who are HUGE fans (In fact I work with one of the biggest Tony Stewart fans that ever lived).  But guys like the chase, the spirit of competition, burning rubber, flying dirt and gasoline fumes.

Guys will race anything.  Don't believe me??  Take a look at the lawnmower and bar stool racers to the right.

My favorite drivers are Matt Kenseth (#17) & Tony Stewart (#24).  But my all time favorite driver is the King Richard Petty.

So if you give me a call tomorrow afternoon, leave a message.....I will get back to you after the race.

Have a great day

Leander, my family loves it too.  My husband is a Jimmie Johnson fan, my daughter and this almost goes without saying is a HUGE Jr. Fan and me well I have finally settled on Clint Bowyer.  I was a Davey Allison and fan and it took me some years of morning his loss before I "picked" my new guy to pull for.  I keep hoping some really cool chic will start racing and do well so I can pull for a girl.

I'm working, but I'm going to call it a day a little early.

I'll be there for the end of it.

Leander-More power to you!  Enjoy the race tomorrow-I am sooo not a fan of Nascar but most of my friends will also be glued to the set tomorrow.  Most of them travel around to the different tracks for the races and love it love it love it!!

I have always dreamed about auto racing ever since I lost my privilige to drive a motorcycle (my parents, wife, etc do not want me to drive motorcycles citing security reasons). This must be fun.

I have not watched ESPN yet, but I did hear that the race was stopped today due to rain.  Im thinking that throws off the strategy for drivers.

The only thing better than Lawn Tractor Racing is Bar stool Racing and you covered them both!

Who is your favorite driver Leander?

So a 500-mile race is a "sprint"? LOL

I typically don't watch races, but I was channel surfing and stopped there just in time to the see 10-car mess that they blamed on Earnhart Jr. The replays from the cameras in several of the drivers' cars were pretty neat.

I hate races decided by rain.  But, it was definitely an exhilarating race.  Plenty of excitement!

It was a great race, made even better because my driver won.  I don't like the win due to rain...but we will take it anyway we can :)

Hi Leander, I am checking out the Nascar fans on AR channel. I am a Jimmie Johnson fan and was at the race last Sunday only to see him taken out in the third lap. I made my first Nascar post too. BTW, my husband thinks Daytona is the SUPERBOWL of racing =)
