DO THESE PUPPIES LOOK HAPPY TO YOU???

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Platinum

Today, Valentines Day, about 30 members from No Wisconsin Puppy Mills Organization (including my sister and I) protested against the Petland Petstore in Pewaukee, WI.  This store, and many like them, buys its puppies from puppy mills. I have done many posts about why we are boycotting this pet store chain in the past, along with ending puppy mill misery in the US, HSUS's investigations on this pet store chain and others, etc. Please see those posts, or go to www.hsus.org, or www.nowisconsinpuppymills.com for more information.

I had to forward these horrific photos of some of the puppies in this particular store.  Now, I ask you...do these pups look happy and healthy?  No blankets, toys or anything in their wired bottom cages.   We have spoken with employees and former employees of this store first hand, along with numerous past customers, and are simply heartbroken hearing about the poor conditions of the animals, lack of proper food/water/etc, the fact that they only let their dogs out once per week!, etc etc etc!!  This just is not right. Please please please, ADOPT, DON'T SHOP!!!

PLEASE ASK ME ABOUT MY GIVE BACK PROGRAM, WHERE I MAKE A CONTRIBUTION TO AN ANIMAL SHELTER IN YOUR NAME UPON CLOSING!!!  ALSO, CONTACT ME FOR INFORMATION ON MY REFERRAL PROGRAM TOO!

You should ask the owners and people who work there if they would like to be treated so miserably.

The pictures break my heart.  I can't even walk into such a store, cause I want to set them all free and bring them home with me.

TOula....when our group protests the Puppy Auctions in Thorp County 3 -4 times a year (can you believe this is legal???), we have a cage where we put a menonite puppy miller in the cage with a huge sign by the highway saying, how would you like it?

Kristin-I could not have said it better myself.  Those poor animals.  That is the reason I can never walk into a pet store.   Your average store displays them the exact same way and I can't stand it.  If I had my way no one would sell these animals for those exorbitant prices that keeps them penned up for months at a time.

Debra, thanks for your support. I agree, there should be NO pet stores period.  Enough lovable pets in shelters and at rescue groups.  Take care my friend!

Sadly, they've got it a lot better in the pet store cage than they did at the mill.

We all have to take a stand against the sale of dogs in pet shops.  Not just in choosing not to shop where puppies are sold but to get legislation passed to ban the sale of dogs and cats in retail establishments.   Professional breeders care about their breed and their puppies and would never turn puppies over to a store to sell.

It angers me to know that people still continue to support the puppy mills by buying pet store dogs.

JenRan, we do all have to take a stand and I try to push the legislators as well...I protest the stores, I send letters, make phone calls, increase awareness....someday hopefully things will change!
