Sellers are you ready for the Spring home buyers in O Fallon MO?

It doesn't matter if you are selling a home in O Fallon Missouri or Fairbanks, Alaska.  When Spring is here so are the buyers and they are all doing the same thing.  They are searching online for a home and then they will drive by the homes that have caught their eye online.  So is the exterior of your home eye candy or something less than? 

I am not sure when Spring comes to Fairbanks but I do know that Spring will be here in O Fallon Missouri real soon.  When the weather is warm folks want to get out.  So if you are thinking about selling your home here are a few ideas on how to improve your homes' "curb appeal". 

1. Keep your lawn cut and edged.  Trim trees and shrubs, removing all dead limbs and debris. 
2. Add color to your yard and front porch with flowers and/or hanging plants.  The weather may not let us do that right now but it will be warm soon so keep this in mind when the time comes.  You may even want to consider that first dose of fertilizer soon.
3. Arrange outdoor furniture and firewood neatly.  Put away all lawn equipment, bikes and other toys.  It may also be time to clean that outdoor furniture and yard ornaments.  A little soap and water will work wonders.
4. Repair any broken areas of your fence, deck, patio, etc.  Make sure these area are clean and in good shape.
5. Check the exterior of items like siding, window sashes, trim and shutter.  Clean these areas and/or paint as needed.  Give special attention to the front door area.
6. Make sure your gutters are clean of debris.  Wash or paint as needed.  Realign the gutters if they look crooked.
7. Check the roof for shingles or flashing that needs replacing or repair.
8. Replace broken windows, doors and screens.  Make sure each looks clean and in good condition.
9. Wash driveways and sidewalks.  Patch holes and try to remove stains.
10. And last but certainly not least touch up the "little things"....house numbers, mail box, door bell, etc.

Winter has a way of making things look tired, you know the less than green grass, leaves in the yard a stray piece of paper and various other things.

Don't loose a perspective buyer because of neglect to the exterior of you home.  Start taking action now so you will be ready for the spring buyer season.
