Out of order but Hi Jeff, If you check out that site, I think Citrix also works with a PC that allows for you yo use Firefox. I am nt positive but look on the site, I see a download for PC's as well.

Sharon, Check out Citrx, I think it also works for PCS to use Firefox. As I mentioned to Jeff, it seems that it might work.

Gary, I suppose I should have investigated this more but I think it might also solve an issue for you. Check it out and see if that is the case. Safari works with it as well.

Sally, Yes they are. I have been using this ( Citrix ) a few days now and my clients get everything just fine and have no issues at all. The forms are of course sent in PDF format. So no issues as of yet.

We certainly do think on the same page. I used to use Quick Books but stopped using it 3 years ago. Sorry I can't help on that one.

So how do like working on a Mac? I discovered there is an ActiveRain Mac User group but it took a while to locate how it was listed. I am guessing that you and I could be responsible , if we write enough, to get many others who really want to have a Mac to go ahead and get one. With the MLS and Standard Forms now available to us on the Mac side, there should be a lot less resistance. I had a lot of issues to over come in learning this new OS X system but as I get to over coming the issues, I am loving it and especially the speed of which I can do things and also the amazing amount of mulitasking it allows.

I suspect that with this new solution there should be no reason that all the MLS's don't take the needed steps to make this available to everyone. Mac users are dedicated to their operating system and there may yet be another surge in people switching from the PC to the MAC. It is an interesting day that we live. Frankly the OS X operatin system seems to work so much better than the PC ever did. We just get used to things on a PC and once the software developers see opportuity, they will make programs that offset much of the advantage that PC have enjoyed. We all don't prefer one car but essentially they all have the same basic features. Go for it and lead your own way, is my motto.

Hello Nogui, thanks for the feedback, I am still trying to get things to work in a seamless way. The Citrix works OK, but things are not as clear. They type looks a bit like dots but  guess that will improve eventually. I use the parallels to run in IE and it is very very slow so I prefer the Citrix on the Mac side.

What is interesting is that our regional is also web based but it is based on Internet Explorer and was not accessible in Safari or Firefox. However with Citrix installed, it works with Firefox. The only reason  am not currently using it on forms, is that when you do lo gin, everything looks like a half tone. The letters are faint and are formed with open dots ( pixels) and it is much harder to read. The forms print OK but it is harder to read the forms. Remember dot matrix printers set in low resolution, it looks like that only more faint. :-)

Best solution of Citrix ICA Client Editor, I do believe still requires your MLS to add a component ( but not sure). Using IE  with Parallells or Virtual Machine works fine if Citrix  not available.

The only contact management program is an on-line program called REST. I have heard good things but have made no further determination as to if I will subscribe to it. But it markets itself as compatible since you can use firefox or safari with it. I would guess that if it uploads contacts from Address Book, syncs with imail, that should be all that is required.
