Can you feel it? Holloywood East is getting closer to reality. Like our founding forefathers, we are glad they landed on the shores of Plymouth Massachusetts.
What a Dream Team: Earl Lestz, David Kirkpatrick, Thom Black, Joseph DiLorenzo, Bill Wynne, Rae Ann Del Pozzo, and Alex Puatu are the heart of this operation. Their on-line profiles are quite impressive and should win over any skeptics of their ability to complete this project.
Joseph DiLorenzo of Plymouth Rock Studios recently spoke at the Cranberry Country Chamber of Commerce annual meeting.
The hot topic of the event was jobs! Mr. DiLorenzo told the crowd that the project will be "union built and operated. After we build this thing, union workers will be on our site - $200 million will be spent on union labor in the next two years." With so many people out of work these days, this was music to the local communities ears.
The FREE acting labs that the company is providing to the public does come with a price. The entry fee for participating in the labs is to bring a non-perishable food item for the Greater Plymouth Food Warehouse which distributes to local shelters. If you attend, not only will you have the benefit of the classes, but you are helping someone out in the process. Great idea, and kudos to the studio.
In addition to the film industry, the studio will be host to television, music and video production as well. "TV is actually the lifeblood. You actually make more money having TV there than movies, so it is a big part of what we're going to be doing at the studio."
Is this their field of dreams? Mr. DiLorenzo was quoted as saying the Hollywood types would come to Massachusetts "if you build it, they will come. For a 25 percent tax credit, they'll do anything."
I can not toot the horn enough on this one! This is big news, and makes for a very exciting future for the state of Massachusetts and the local communities.
