The second that I saw the black and white I thought about the movie "The Birds!"

Thanks, Joanne...this is my daughter, Hilary, who has always had and raised and rescued birds...she seems to somehow speak their language.

Michael and Brent - remember, though, that those awful birds in the movie were CROWS...these are seagulls (ie jonathan Livingston :-)  I was afraid of birds my whole life because of seeing that as a kid though...until this girl taught me how to be unafraid of birds (when she was 5)...

Mara, What a picture.  It reminded me, too, of The Birds but they seem to be going in all different directions.

I do not usually comment on speechless post. Now this is really a good one. I really would like a cute title though.

Hi Mara- I just love your monochrome photos, I think I'll play around with it too!  This absolutely does not remind me of "Birds".  What is Hilary standing on, looks precarious.  Cool pic!!!

Now that's a lot of birds!  I get tickled thinking about how my cats would react to a sight like that!  They love to sit in the windows and watch.

Jared - This is one of my favorites.

Carole - the girl in the photo is a raptor lover!

Huiting - Thaks for the feedback...I've added a title :-)

Gail - she is standing on a 3-foot wall...with sand on one side, the strand on the other :-)

Mary - I'm glad you enjoyed this. Thanks for stopping by!

Ann - Oh the cats would have such a heyday! They go crazy just watching ONE bird from the window :-)

I too, love LOOKING at birds, but this many would be too close for me, I still remember Hitchcock's movie, seeing it in the theater, toooooo scary!

Mara,

That is a really neat shot. I like the monochromatic tone. Sort of like a scene from "The Birds." :)

Mara,

I like that you chose black and white for this photo.   It gets the focus on those wingspans rather than the sky and the beach.   Great photo!
