help wanted sign in the windowIf blogs had windows....

If my two blogs,  Discover Columbus and Columbus Best Blog each had a big plate glass front window there'd be a help wanted sign in the windows of both blogs.

I am looking for a home inspector guest blogger to write ... about home inspection occasionally on one of my other blogs.

It does not pay well at all but there could be some good exposure, I believe.

In fact guest blogging (at least on my two blogs) does not pay at all but I can show a home inspector how to make guest blogging pay off.

I've wanted to have someone from one of the inspection companies I use as a guest blogger but maybe that is not necessary.  I have invited a number of inspectors to Active Rain.  One home inspector I invited joined Active Rain and wrote one entry.  I believe Active Rain is a great place for real estate agents, home inspectors, loan officers, stagers... anyone in the real estate industry to learn about blogging. Join Active Rain.

Help wanted signs also need to go up for a stager guest blogger, a finance guest blogger for my two blogs.....

that's a great idea Maureen - I'll keep an eye on your blog to see how you do it.  I'm sure plenty of people will jump at the opportunity.

I don't think so Ines.  I think everyone in Central Ohio is either scared of blogging or thinks it will not work, or that it is too much work.

Check out www.nachi.org click on find an inspector.  You can be assured to find a list of inspectors in your area who are certified and professional.  I agree with you Active Rain is a great place for all involved in the real estate community to share.

Thanks Robert, I think I have a link to NAHI on my website, Do they have a list of those who blog?

I know I have a link to ASHI on my website. I know a lot of the local inspectors.  I have invited a number here to blog and I think only one has accepted the invite. I don't think any of them are blogging outside of Active Rain or my Google Alerts would have unearthed them.

Maureen, hope you'll post an invite here on AR to your blog when the post goes up.  I'm looking for some guest writers for those who work with seniors too--to speak to the consumer.  I'll be interested to hear how this goes for you!

That's too bad - it's their loss - if I ever get where you are at, I may hit the same obstacles - not many people are blogging in my market, which is great for me.

Lisa I'll let you know if I get anything. There is one inspector in our market who blogs a bit on ActiveRain.  I don't know him.  I really wanted Art Wickersham to blog on ActiveRain but he has never been back after his first entry.  He did a series of presentations about blogging at local libraries a couple of years ago and was interesting.

Thanks for BOTH links to the NAHI website,Robert.  I don't believe that would be a place I would look for an inspector in my market to be a guest blogger on my other blogs.  I would be more likely to look for someone who is blogging, via Technorati or Google.  Or someone who is reading blogs. That's why I posted my Help Wanted Ad on my Active Rain blog.

As I said after your first comment with a link I have the NAHI link on my website. As well as the www.ASHI website.

Ines there are other real estate agents blogging in my market but I don't think any lenders, stagers or inspectors are doing it yet.

Maureen,

I've also been trying to do some recruiting.  I had an inspector that I like to use who was trying to do some posting once a week but it sort of fell apart.  I also had a mortgage guy but he's not in the business anymore.  Resourses who "get it" and are willing to take the time to write what we'd like to see on our blogs are seemingly few and far between. Good luck.

I have begged lenders to spam me...in comments. Finance is probably the hardest thing for me to write about. I actually enjoy writing about home inspections as long as they are long enough ago.

I like the guest blogger idea, Maureen.  Are you going to be the next Rain City Guide, or Bloodhound Blog?  Hopefully you can rustle up some volunteers.

I don't want to be either, I just want some content that I can not really provide.  Teresa and Maureen F. both use guest bloggers tp write about finance I would say I aspire more to that level than BHB pr RCG. I don't think either of those is a local blog since they are talking to the real estate world more than their market.

Hi Maureen... Great idea after all most of the issues we deal with in home inspecting are the mis understanding of what an inspection is and is not. I am vice president of NAHI Ohio and lead instructor at the Kaplan/ITA inspection school here in Ohio. I would be glad to comment on occasion if you would like. Let me know. I also do presentations to groups regarding home inspection. Small or large... Day or Night!
