Each month, the Realtor's Association of Maui posts a summary of the market activity island wide for the prior month. This is a helpful resource for both Buyers and Sellers who are interested in evaluating market trends, as there are Year to Date figures as well as comparisons with the prior year. It is important to keep in mind that the statistical base is quite small and a region can show a 100% increase or decrease over prior years due to just one sale occurring.
The Kapalua Resort market, though slow in January, has begun to pick up. I've noted an increase in visitors, showings, and walk-ins. There was just one sale in January, but two new pending sales. Both are homes in Pineapple Hill. This residential neighborhood has become a good value, as prices have dropped and inventory has increased.
