You the man. Honesty is the best medicine.
If a buyer wanders into my sales office at the development I call their agent as soon as they walk out the door. Your right buyers need to know we can be trusted to do what is right.
You and I have a lot in common,,,I have done what you did several times,,Wish more agents thought like you,,,,maybe buyers would be more loyal,,if WE were also,,,,,,thanks for the post

Todd,
Good job.
Todd,
So true..."please, we need to look at ourselves as a community."
Todd, I also had a man contact me on our web site and when I called I found out he was working with another realtor for the sale of his house in another town, 30+ miles away. So I called his agent to let him know the man had contacted me. You are so right.
Todd, not only was it the right thing to do it also created a bond and trust with another agent for life. Likely this agent will always speak highly of you whenever your name comes up and that it the type of deal where no amount of advertising could match or ever equal. Take care and happy blogging!
She was impressed and in the end I basically told her that my reputation is all I have in this world and I don't want to lose it!
Good evening Todd,
This is a perfect example of why agents are happy to work with you and competing brokers want to hire you!
good job. i have learned that buyers are not loyal unless you have them locked into a buyers broker agreement. I also have learned that if you don't have a buyer locked into a buyer broker agreement that other agents, even the ones in your own office will steal them. i am glad there are honest agents out there like you. there are too many agents that act like used car salesmen or appliance salesmen out there.
Congratulations . You did the right thing. I wish there were more agents like you.
Good for you Todd! Most people would have been sure I'll right it up and forget about Ethics right out the window! But of course you always come through and do the right thing!
I will tell you that around here its cut throat. I have had allot of Realtors just move right on in with clients that I have a BA with. No respect!
