Back in December there seemed to be a surge of oceanfront single-family homes on the market along Kauai's north shore (between Wainiha and Haena). Now, a surge means 8 homes when previously there had been maybe one here and one there. Now, the # has increased slightly.

For those looking for desireable oceanfront property along Kauai's magnificent north shore, here’s some info on the latest listings currently on the Kauai Multiple Listing Service. Keep in mind, for those looking for homes they can vacation rental, these properties are not in a Visitor Destination Area (and some may be zoned Conservation). However, several have been vacation rentals to date and have applied for their Non Conforming Use Permit (NCUP) so that the property can hopefully continue on as such. At this time, it is thought that many owners won’t know if their property will be approved for said permit until approx. March 31, 2009.
