A Snowy Day In Virginia Beach!

I can't believe that when we woke up this morning there was ACTUALLY snow covering the rooftops and cars. It wasn't alot to most people but I can't remember the last time we saw snow here. Luckily, the schools and most businesses were closed today due to the Presidents Day Holiday. Otherwise, I am sure they would have shut down the city.

This is practically a one time event here in Virginia Beach. I come from the Midwest and my husband comes from upstate New York so it was kind of refreshing to see the snow on the ground every once in awhile. I am grateful though that this is probably the worst of it for this year.

All in all I do hate the cold and snow but it is beautiful to see every once in awhile.

It was all melted when I awoke at 5 am in Portsmouth. I did see 5 flakes fall in Hampton about 20 minutes ago. 2 or 3 more and schools will be shut down

I can't help but laugh at it, Naoma, I can't even SEE the snow.

David - too funny...are you sure it wasn't only 4 snowflakes?

Alan - if you look really close there is a little of snow touching the ground. Believe me it is a BLIZZARD here!

Sorry, Naoma, if i have to "look really close" that doesn't count as Snow.

Naoma, I bet it was quite a surprise to find snow on the ground! We had a slight dusting last night out in Blacksburg, but not enough to make a difference. - Kat

Alan - I know I know...It was more of a sprinkling of snow

Kat - It was! My husband was so excited this morning he couldn't believe it.

Close the schools...it's snowing! I love Virginia Beach. I've been there a couple of times and each time the dolphins were frolicking in the ocean.

Wow - that is an event! So far this year we had one 2" inch snowfall in Northern Virginia, Karen
