Over the past few I've happened onto Jeffrey Gitomer's website, received a few emails, read some articles, listened to a couple of short interviews and generally been aware of his presence. What I haven't done is buy his books. First, my Scrooge McDuck kicks in and I refuse to pay that much money for such a little book published in a comic book fashion. Secondly, I'm of the educated persuasion; why would I waste my time on a little book when I can buy a big book with lots of information, or a series of CDs or enrol in a five day seminar.
To use the old Buddhist saying, "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.". Last Saturday while agog with the vast choices of books in the PageOne Bookstore located in Taipei 101 this little yellow book with a big red YES! on the front cover leapt off the shelve into my hands open to page thirty-one which 
reads, "Understanding that you are the most important person in the world is a key step in the direction of YES!ATTITUDE."
Jeffrey Gitomer defines the difference between a positive and a YES!ATTITUDE as follows, "Both are great, but yes is a bit more powerful because it assumes that everything you say and do will start with yes, even when it's a no.".
This really got to me. My university educations taught me to question and examine everything. The answer to a question in that world was subservient to the discussion. But! Guess What? My life and particularly my Real Estate life is not a discussion group.
There is little spin or discussion in this book. It's all about saying YES. All the stuff I've learned reading and listening to real estate gurus, motivational speakers, attending seminars, etc. are staring at me on every page in large print and bright colours. I warn you. This book is all about accountability. The pages of this book stare right back at you.
So my task and goal is to become a YES! man. Not a yes but, or a let me think about it or ... So its YES! to life, Real Estate, the market, etc.
I'll be starting my days off saying YES! to Gitomer's yellow book and than his red and black books.
