Sunset over Manheim Township pond

Manheim Township is a large area extending north from Lancaster City along 4 major arteries: Fruitville Pike to the west, Lititz Pike, Oregon Pike and New Holland Pike on the east.  The main freeway (222) to the PA Turnpike and Reading also runs through Manheim Township.  This area is one of the oldest settled in Lancaster County, and boasts many pristine neighborhoods with tree-lined streets and green parks.  The largest park is Overlook, a complex near the center of the township with a pool, golf course, restaurant and many other attractions.  Landis Woods Park, a great walking trail and home to an annual outdoor art show, is just off Lititz Pike near the small hamlet of Neffsville.  Also near Neffsville is the Manheim Twp park, with lots of picnic spots and trails, where an annual car show is held which is very popular. The Lancaster County Airport is just a mile away from the township line to the north, near Lititz.  Access to all major routes out of Lancaster is very easy, which makes Manheim Township a popular destination for commuters.  The schools are recognized within the state system.

Homes in Manheim Township vary widely, from historic log homes and farmettes to large colonials set on wooded lots, to brand-new new homes on tract properties with all the latest amenities such as 3-car garages, large kitchens & baths or full master suites.  Development was strong in the early 1980's so many neighborhoods date from that era, featuring split levels, bi-levels and 2-story model homes.  There are some nice townhome communities such as Cobblestone Court and nice condo communities such as Valleybrook for those looking for less maintenance.  Blossom Hill, a ridge overlooking downtown Lancaster, was home to the areas higher-end community for many years and boasts beautiful views for the summit lots.  On the extreme northwest end, the gated community of Bent Creek has its own country club and golf course.  There is a wide variety of homes that will appeal to any buyer and price range.

Hi Jeff, Sounds like a great area!  Let me know if you need any assistance with financing for a purchaser of any log homes in your area.  We specialize in log home financing so we're able to overcome the "comps issue" that some lenders struggle with for the appraisal.  We have been providing financing to this niche market on a nationwide scale for 11 years now.  I guess with a name like "Log Lenders of America" we'd have to specialize in it :)

Definetely one of the nicest areas around Lancaster. I highly suggest Manheim Township for residents looking for upscale neighborhoods and country living. For golf enthusiasts, look no further than Bent Creek Country Club, the only gated community in this area.
