Color sticks from realmilkpaint.comA few days ago I wrote a posting about low and zero VOC paints. ( See posting on Zero VOC, What's That Stand For ... Very Odd Colors? ...) However, even "zero" VOC paints can have up to 5 grams of the various toxins per liter. One of the people commenting on my post mentioned that even those can be too much for her asthma. So I wanted to add information about Natural Paints.

Again on Eartheasy.com there is great information on paints that are made from completely natural ingredients and may be a better option for those who have particularly acute sensitivity to any chemicals. If that's you, you may want to try paints by Realmilkpaint.com . These paints are made from their own exclusive formula using all organic materials including powdered purified casein, lime and pigments. The color sticks in the photo at the left are some of their colors.

Eartheasy.com has additional information on other natural paint selections! So even if you are extra sensitive to paint toxins, you do not have to resign yourself to a life of white walls!

Pangaea ~ Yikes.  When I think about all the homes I've painted over the years, and how I LOVE the smell of fresh paint ... it's scary!  I guess it's a good thing we know better now.  Thanks for the helpful info.

Pangaea, Thanks for the good post and heads up.  We'll look into this and let our clients who need to paint know about it.
