A new minor league baseball team is expected to open in Zion, Illinois( located in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago in the summer of 2010. According to reliable sources,Kevin Costner is one of the investors of the stadium project. I guess he feels that if he builds it... Lake County will come.
Lake County is presently the only major area collar county that doesn't have a sports team. This new Lake County stadium which will have 5000 reserved seats as well as a banquet facility is expected to cost approximately 15 million dollars to build.
Not only will this new stadium in the Chicago Northwest Suburbs be a great place to visit but it is expected to create 300 permanent full-time jobs including team management positions, park vendors, security and maintenance. Now that's different!
Additionally, the stadium is going to bring Lake County another entertainment venue and banquet facility. This new team is a win win for Lake County and the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. My family is really looking forward to the new team as well as the new stadium in the Chicago Northwest Suburbs. If Costner builds it the Greenbergs will be there!
