Looks large enough to be an eagle's nest!

Hmmmm, that almost looks like an Osprey perched at the top but guess it's just sticks.

Hi Kathleen - It is an eagle's nest - an osprey. The parents return to it every year to have and raise their young.

Hi Richard - That's what I thought when I first shot the picture, but as we got closer, I realized it was indeed just a stick.

A fish eagle! I'm looking forward to a followup post in the spring, with white, downy eaglets looking for Mama!

Hi Mike - There is one osprey's nest on the Rogue River that the jet boat captains know has an occupant who will give a "fishing show" for the riders when the osprey is enticed with a nice fresh fish. I've seen them swoop down to catch their dinner at Howard Prairie Lake, only to have it taken away mid-air by one of lazier friends.
