Welcome to The Active Rain Handbook

Why create a handbook for Active Rain and Localism.com when surely all the answers are already on the site?  Surely they are there...somewhere.....if you can find them....if you ask the right question or enter the right words in the ‘search'.

I have decided I am either much dumber than I thought or learning how to work both Active Rain and localism.com to my best advantage is one of the most difficult and time consuming challenges I have faced on the Internet.

And while I don't mind learning, my time is limited - just like yours is.

Most of my questions seem to have no easy answers.  I sent a message to ‘HELP' by clicking on the ‘help' button on the site.  What I got in return was a message from AR telling me they (some computer in the sky) believed my request for help to be spam.  Then, I was directed to another site where I had to register again in order to be able to submit questions for help to Active Rain Corp.  I did that.  Three days later - still no response other than an email telling me I have a ticket number that can be tracked.  My request has now been ‘pending' for over three days.  (I'll update this when I ever hear from the help desk.)

There is a funny side to this: the email address to which the help requests are sent is blackhole@activeraincorp ( or some similar domain name).   The black hole part is right on!!  Requests for help truly do fall into a ‘black hole'.

Thereby creating the need for the ACTIVE RAIN HANDBOOK.

Let's help each other and get the most and best use from both sites - AR and localism.com.

Thanks for visiting.  Hope you'll join and share the knowledge you have learned from trial and error.

With great hopes for a helpful group experience,

Lynda
