Stamp Out Hunger 2007

It's time again for the annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. 

Each year the United States Postal Service sponsors the "nation's largest single-day food drive".  This year they have teamed up with Campbell's Soup Company.  Campbell's has pledged to donate 1,000,000 cans of soup to support the drive!  What an awesome donation!

In 2006, Charleston County Postal Service Workers were able to gather 37,000 pounds of canned good donations for this special cause.  This year, if every resident would leave only one can in their mailbox to be picked up, the USPS would have an amazing 100,000 pounds of food!

This year's event will take place on Saturday, May 12^th.  To donate, please leave items like canned meats and fish, canned soup, juice, pasta, vegetables, cereal and rice in or beside your mailbox.  The letter carrier will then pick these items up and deliver them to the local food bank.

It doesn't get any easier than that!  Do your part with just one can.
