Richard:  Believe it or not, I had this same idea about 4 weeks ago and someone close to me told me she thought it was a terrible idea and would only demean myself as a professional.  I begged to differ but decided I didn't have enough guts to do it.  I can't wait to show her the results you got from it.  Way to go!

Richard-You go! Now that's some real marketing, people get to see you, your dressed for success and bam you get business! Only thing missing is having your assistant (you might need one if you don't have one already)handing out donuts and coffee, maybe morning paper too! Best to you~

Love your story, I'd do it, if it had not already been done by you...what a great idea.

What a great idea, I love it.  Now it is not original, but I wish I had thought of and had the guts to execute this one.

You should have used a cardboard sign with a big perminant marker!  Now that would have been funny!  We saw someone with a sign that said need money for beer and cigarettes and people were honking, giving him the thumbs up and throwing money at him!

Great Idea!  You certainly cleaned up the corner!  Do you need any kind of permit to do this?  I know a lot of cities have created laws to prevent people from doing this standing on the corner with a sign thing...

To all who say I would do it ..but you already did I say go for it I bet no other Realtor in your city is doing it. Be the first. Send a press release get noticed for going above and beyond. I promise you it will help. Where would we be if no one made a Chevy because ford did it already..lol. As far as laws against this activity...Those laws are for panhandling...asking for money...begging and I don't do any of those things. I am advertising and utilizing my right to freedom of speech. I don't use a marker or cardboard because I am trying to get customers and help them. I don't think it is a joke to my customers and I don't intend it to turn into one. I try to be professional even when holding a sign..lol

I live on Bitters and see you standing there each day and just started checking out your blog. Very entertaining! I love that you have the guts to think outside the box and do something!

When I read about Bob "the newspaper guy" I was infuriated!   I cannot believe they would steal his bike.  I told my husband about it and we both decided to do something about it.  We went looking for a replacement bike and at the pawn shop down the street we were told he had already bought another bike.  We are going to try to help him some other way. I would like to encourage anyone else reading this blog that sees Bob "The newspaper guy" to give him a few extra bucks when you get your paper this next week!  Lets try and show him there are still some good people out there and admire someone working hard for a living!
