We all utilize different tools to analyze the traffic coming to our website.  I thought I would share a handy tool with you all that is also free.  AWStats provides useful information regarding unique visitors and hits to your site by giving you a monthly and daily history.  You can even see what time of day and day of the week you receive the most traffic.

There is also a section that displays stats for traffic you are receiving from other countries and a section displaying which Search Engines visitors are coming from.

If you are curious how long visitors stick around on your site, there is an area that outlines the duration of visits.  Not sure which web pages your visitors come to most?  AWStats also gives you this information; looking at my stats, my blog gets the most traffic.

Seeing the top keyphrases and keywords that bring people to your site is also important in case you need to make changes or adjustments to the search terms you are focusing on to bring others to your website.

Hi Patricia what does this do that mybloglog doesn't?

Bill- I have the free version of mybloglog so I am not sure.  I'm guessing mybloglog only tracks stats for your blog.  It's definitely one of the better free analytic website tools for your entire website not just your blog.

Outside Blog Hit Router

Hi, I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get to your blog. My computer is still dead, and I just can't seem to get face time with my husbands, so my tweets, and posts have been dramatically reduced.

Thanks for the newest tool. It'll be fun, and help me tweak my posts.

I know Awstats from my WordPress.org blog I guess thinking about it my host must have it.  I don't look at it much and never thought of it as something I could use to measure anything but my WordPress.org blog.

I want something where I can look at stats or graphs or something and quickly compare:

My WP.org blog

My ActiveRain blog

My old RealTown blog which still often has more traffice than anywhere else... why would I stop blogging there?

My presence on Localism

and my traffic on my ActiveRain outside blogs.  Getting code into the Localism and Outside blogs is the problem...  I was using Site Meter for three blogs and then AR stopped us from using it.

Maureen, I don't know of any tools out there where you can compare all of those...let me know if you do find one because I would also be interested in something like that.  I don't think I've used Site Meter before either.
