I have found that through the year and a half that I have been associated with the ActiveRain community, the folks here can be a great help and sounding board. I have long been aware that your presence on the internet is extremely important. And, the difference between page one and page two means whether you get the sale or someone else does. That being said, I have been working on my new website in order to gain more presence on the net as I plan to use it as one of my main marketing tools this year. I need your help to critique my site and give me advice on what I can do better or need to change. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Wishing all my fellow drips and tweeps a G-r-r-r-reat day... 8-)

Good Morning Michael:

Overall I like the site!  But your introduction video kept cutting in and out?  I also noted that as I scrolled over  four of your links, they did not highlight, as if they were actually connected.  You might want to check that out?

Don't change your photo - I love and it is recognizable even when it's small on a page with lots of others. Very creative

    Michael,

One of the ways I get higher on web searches is to register with Home Inspector Directories that show up on the 1st pages of trial searches I perform. I only register with them if I can get a premium listing. Average cost is around $250 annually. You get that back with 1 inspection.

    Good luck

Michael, your site looks good! A lot of white space and to the point. I did have a problem with your streaming video. It kept cutting out on me. You might want to option your video to start when someone clicks on the start button. That way it may give more time to load the file. Good Job!

Roy, I am redoing the video and will finish with a picture - great idea! Thanks...

Calvin, did not think of that one. Thanks for sharing...

Michael, I'll work on that one. Right now it is set to do a progressive download. There may be a problem with the bandwidth. I'll check it out...

Missy, Where do I put the title? Good idea...

Charles, Yes, not all the links are working as this is an ongoing process. I will either delete them right now or mark them reserved for future use...

Michael I think the site is great. I know a guy (famous last words) that works for a national SEO company and they will do a free (no strings attached, I mean it) assessment of your website. Email me an I can send you his info.

    Michael,

I like it...words and pictures and they even move. You have a real talkie there. My site is still in the dark ages compared to that. I do think I would like that first guy...gray hair and beard..to be wearing an authentic Tennessee Davy Crockett hat.

Hey, Michael.  I like the home page.  It's easy to navigate, lots of bullet points (which website visitors love) and the video was great.  It didn't cut in and out, so you must have fixed that.  Also, I liked the fact that the audio wasn't too loud.  Usually, these videos scream when you land on the page.  This was much better.  I would suggest renaming your navigation buttons under services and videos to be more descriptive and keyword worthy.  The videos just need to be named for what the video talks about.  But, I would take out any of the "link to" references under Services (such as link to new construction, link to radon) and just name them New Construction, Radon, etc.  You also want to make sure that all your links work.  You'll get ding'd by search engines when they see that the links go nowhere.

    Mr Michael,

I read my bosses comments and agree with him. You can borrow my outfit. It might have to be taken out a bit...kind of small.

Nutsy, I like your Davy Crockett outfit. We need to dress your kinfolk down our way in that garb. BTW is that a squirrel skin cap your wearing?

Hi Michael - I like your web site.  It is simple and not cluttered.  This translates into easy to navigate.  You might want to include a "Testimonials" page where you can post positive comments by past clients.  Regardless, it looks like a good site and it will work for you.
