Earning Designations

By
Real Estate Agent with The Realty Butler llc/West USA Realty, Inc.

Well, today I actually completed my GRI designation. I wanted to ask some of you agents who are more experienced, what designations you have earned, and what value you place on them.

I discovered that the GRI classes were "somewhat" helpful to me. I know that there were lots of issues and topics that I was either ill-informed, or ignorant of, and that these classes helped me to gain a better understanding. There were contract classes, agency issues, environmental issues, multicultural issues, business planning, etc.

I found that the business classes and the class on assistants were particularly helpful to me.

Now, does the GRI make me a better Realtor? Earn me more money? Give me more credibility? I don't really know yet. I do know that I have a better understanding of the finer points of some issues.

I think more than anything, I simply showed to the world, and particularly my customers, that I am very serious about my career, and that I value them enough to be current in my education.

What are your thoughts. . .?

Congratulations on finishing your GRI.

In the hierarchy of real estate GRI is much like grade school.  Now for your High School education you need to work on CRS, ABR.  Then for college try the CIPS, CRB or some other course of work that leads you to higher learning in your field.

Nice work!

Congratulations Allen! I think customers will be impressed with your knowledge & what you bring to the table as a result of it. You need to toot your horn about your GRI, what you have learned & how it effects your customers.

Congratulations, however, I believe in what Kristal says, ABR, CRS, SRES - then look for referrals from other agents. That's there the $ is. Not to mention your credibility with your clients.

Congratulations Allen,

Great Job and I agree with investing in our careers and there is no better investment than knowledge and professionalism. Your next stop CRS is a higher level of education, dedication and professionlism.
