I have cartoons on my Discover Columbus blog.  Andertoons Business Cartoons and BLaugh.

Why do I have cartoons on Discover Columbus?  Because Columbus Ohio is kinda cartoony.  Humorist James Thurber was born and raised in Columbus and went on to become well known writing and drawing cartoons for The New Yorker.   Ohio State University has a Comics Library    I also have a couple of Columbus cartoonists blogs on my Columbus Blog Roll on Discover Columbus and ColumbusBestBlog.com  I use "comic sans" as my font on Discover Columbus.  I wrote on that blog once about how cartoony Columbus real real estate can be.

stealing pieMischief happens in real estate sometimes...  Fun and games?  Real estate hijinks? Boys will be boys..  Here's my cartoony version of a local real estate story.  "why were they sitting in a tree?"

"You won't find a more thorough analysis of every factor in a cybersquatting case than this on." is the beginning of a drier version of the story about the Central Ohio real estate cyber mischief from Keith Henning of Copywrite.org

Sellsius° Blog enjoyed my version of the local real estate story which was also about a blog being cartoony as a style.

The most simple telling of the Columbus Ohio real estate story was on The Real Estate Bloggers, Tom's version has no cartoon characters and no one is sitting in a tree.

He wrote: "This will be interesting to follow as a former agent with the largest Columbus Brokerage registered domain names of his former brokers and then inadvertently had the sites point to his new agency. The company, HER Real Living, is suing saying the real estate agent .... was cybersquatting and trying to use the former brokers names and reputations to build his business."

That is crazy, though I suppose not shocking in this day and age.  Thanks Maureen.

There is another famous cartoonist that is associated with OSU. I'm having a senior moment but I think his first name was Mel. He did a famous comic strip.

Judi and Eric thanks for the comments.  Eric I think there is probably a lot more mischief like that going on within the real estate industry than many realize.

Elaine:  Yeah... I read about it when I did the story about the Cartoon Library or the Comics Library or whatever it is...  I am not sure if I put it in the entry or not.  The guy that did Terry and the Pirates and Steve Canyon?  One was during WWII and the other was after?

Milt!

Milton Caniff

"Fisher's article says Caniff was from Dayton, Wikipedia says he was from Hillsboro but goes on to say:

"Shortly after matriculating at the Ohio State University, from which he graduated in 1930, Caniff began a career in journalism by applying to the Columbus Dispatch. There he worked with the noted cartoonist William "Billy" Ireland until Caniff's position was eliminated."
