Lovin' Live Baltimore

Talking with customers Last evening was the big Live Baltimore reception and new website debut. The venue was gorgeous – Symphony Center in downtown Baltimore, just across from the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. Real estate professionals came to network and learn more about what Live Baltimore does to encourage people to live in Baltimore City. People stopped at a large city map to find their homes in one of Baltimore's more than 200 neighborhoods. And right next to the map was…me! Live Baltimore had generously offered to include a book signing in the evening's festivities, so there I was, signing and selling copies of Real Estate the Rome Way.

It was a huge Two Margarets and Martha success…and a lot of fun, too. Nancy Corporon was a delight as she bought the first book of the evening. Friends and colleagues stopped to chat. One nice surprise was having Activer Rainers Martha Brown and Margaret Woda stop by for a visit, especially since they took the time to drive some distance from their home area. Vito Simone who is president of the Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors was there, along with Kim Jones and Helen Dellheim.

Lee Rome and Vito Simone Executive Director Anna Custer gave a lively overview of the new website, and a delightfully enthusiastic young woman named Cassandra spoke of how the program had helped her buy a home – she settled earlier this month – with financial assistance and valuable counseling.

It was a great evening, and I was so proud to be next to my best friend and publisher, Peg Silloway. I think the word is qvelling. Yep, I was qvelling for both of us. I think you can see in that photo of Helen, Lee, and me that Lee was qvelling a bit too.

Margaret- I was so glad I went AND that Maragret Woda took the time to come along too. It sure was a great evening. I have some photos heading your way after I post my blog about the evening!!

Margaret - well that was quite the event. Fun with some AR folks, a book signing, and lots of learning about Live Baltimore. Is this an annual event? What a great way to entice buyers into the city (I love the harbor area but it''s been a few years).

Margaret, What a great evening. I love downtown Baltimore. That was great that you had a book signing there at the such a nice affair.

You are so right Margaret, it was a wonderful evening. The time flew by with so many people to meet. This particular event was a 1 time thing Jeff, but we hold many events throughout the year to promote our concept of living in Baltimore City. Partnering with Live Baltimore is a valuable endeavor towards helping our city to become revitalized. Every new home owner makes an exponentially positive impact upon our citizens and businesses.

I am so glad that so many folks were able to make it out last night and look forward to our next event. Live Baltimore knows how to roll : )

Mmmmmmmmargaret... qvelling??? A new word for me. ;-) Thx for sharing the pics from your signing. Every time I see photos of Rainers meeting somewhere it reminds me of a family reunion! Have a wonderful weekend!

What a wonderful event and such a great organization to support. Live Baltimore has done much to elevate and promote city living in a much undervalued city. Coming from New York City over a decade ago, I saw so much potential in the wonderful rowhomes (townhouses or brownstones in NYC) and the many diverse neighborhoods that comprise our fair city.

As always you are an inspiration. I am devouring your book---what insight and so well written.

YES! I am a type E mystic trying to transform into a translator! Anyone that doesn't know what I'm talking about, needs to buy your book right away!
