Sunny with some high clouds mixed in about 70-71 downtown another beautiful day in LA.

Local news:   We're working on putting together a group that will help the City of Los Angeles finance the solar paneling of the Hollywood Sign.  Please go to http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=112421480183&topic=6973  and add a comment.

We're asking Councilmember Tom LaBonge for his support in this effort... He's thinking about it.  Meantime here's his weekly news letter!

This was a busy week in Council District 4.  To learn more about any of the items below, please visit the CD4 website at:  www.tomlabonge.com

 - Tom's initiative to preserve the character of Larchmont Village was unanimously approved by the City Council on Wednesday.  The new ordinance imposes new limits on the scale of any new development in the Larchmont shopping district, which is often cited as the model urban village in Los Angeles.

 - Within one day of the home invasion robbery in Windsor Square last Friday, the Los Angeles Police Department had arrested its first suspect in the case.  Tom congratulates the LAPD's Olympic Division and the Windsor Square community for working well together to share information that led to the arrest.

 - Tom convened his third Schools Collaborative this week.  These events bring city officials together with LA Unified School District personnel to iron out solutions to problems that effect both.  Superintendent Ramon Cortines was among the speakers at yesterday's three-and-a-half hour meeting.

 - Please join us for tomorrow's North Hollywood Clean-Up.  See the attached flier for more details.

 - Visit the website for photos from these events and many other Council District 4 projects.

Have a great weekend and continue to love and enjoy Los Angeles. We will see you tomorrow!
