Confirm Your Winnings!!!
I have done it again, I have won another huge amount of money and I didn't even have to signup all I had to have was a presence on the web.  I must be the absolute luckiest person in the world.  Now my dilemma is whether or not to claim this wonderful prize.  You know with the market being down maybe I should go ahead and claim it.  It is worth $500,000.00 and it does look so official and all.  Not to mention it is a lump sum payment too.  Hmmmmm this is really tempting.  What do you think?

We are happy to inform you that you have emerged a winner in the Sponsor Bingo Lottery new year promotion. Winners were picked by computerised system drawn from companies and individuals e-mail addresses worldwide. The draw was officially announced on 20th February, 2009.You have therefore been  awarded a lump sum of US$500,000.00 which is the winning pay out for category B winners.
NOTE: For easy reference and identification, remember to quote your numbers in your correspondence to our agent with the following information.
Ticket Number: 728/0551, Reference Number: 6262/8155/16, Batch Number: 17/011/ISB
Please contact Freeway Finance & Management immediately for due processing and remittance of your prize money.

I just have one question, when are these people going to stop preying on other people?  You never hear of someone winning their prize when they claim them.  With the Lottery in Missouri they let you know who wins.

Don~ Since you didn't claim your price money, can I?? I'm sure my mortgage company wouldn't mind giving me their account numbers so that I can wire the money right to them and be mortgage free forever...Sounds fair to me, don't you think?

Hi Don!  You are ONE lucky man!  You know, I often wonder how stupid these folks think we are?!  Their emails are always grammatically incorrect and they never know my name--just 'Sir' or 'Madame'!   I do hope that no one ever takes them up on their 'offers!'

I would be glad to share with you seeing that Bill has not taken me up on my offer.  Would you be willing to accept the same offer that I made him?

Don - If only Citibank read your blog...

You see our friends at Citibank lost a whopping $28 million in a Nigerian e-mail scam - story from the NY Times.  It started with an exchange of e-mails between the bank and one of its customers (or at least a person posing as an Ethiopian government official).  The Ethiopian official then overnighted documents to the bank to allow fax wire transfer instructions.  The bank receives the instructions and starts sending out wires.  The problem - the bank never contacted the bank directly to confirm the authorization for the fax instructions on wires and never confirmed any of the wire transfers.  Oh, better yet, the instructions didn't come from Ethiopia, they orginated from Nigeria.  The funds were then wired all over the world.  I guess the taxpayer funds received by Citigroup will cover this loss so I guess that "we the taxpayers" were just duped by one of the oldest scams in the books.

Hi Don,

I don't think I have much of a presence on the web, but somehow you have been awarded my lottery winnings.   Thanks for posting, these e-mails are annoying.  I always wonder who falls for these scams.

Pam J.

P.S.  I am currently taking a realtors course.  Is this a bad career move??? or just a bad time in the market??

Good evening Pam,

I will tell you that this profession is a good one but it will only be as good as YOU make it.  Remember you are an independent contractor and it is 100% commission.  The income ceiling is as high as you would like it.  All I can say is have fun.
