Face to Face Connections~

I'm a firm believer in face to face networking. Back in November I stumbled onto this website called Meet up.com. This site allows for groups in local areas to meet up and make face to face connections. I had an idea several months back that would incorporate networking, exercise and giving back to the community. So imagine my surprise to find meetup! So, I went with my idea and gave it a go!Tennis

I have and still am involved in some awesome networking opportunities that are held in restaurants and other locations but really felt the need get away from food and feel the fresh air hitting my face. The WEST MICHIGAN WALK N TALK NETWORKING GROUP was born in December, while we've been growing at a slow pace, I am hopeful with the brutal MI weather behind us, we will attract more members!

West Michigan Walk N Talk Networking Group meets once a month and our next walk will be held April 14Th from 12-1pm around Reeds Lake. To find out more or to join, check us out at West MI Walk N Talk!

I believe if we can somehow find a balance of both face to face and online connections our business can only flourish! So, hat's off to all that are trying to achieve that balance with all the other balancing we have to do!

The face-t0-face is something I definitely think we're losing out on more and more . . . With Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, ActiveRain and countless other web-based networks, I think the tendency is to become less physically involved.  I like your idea . . . let us know how it goes!

Hey I know that meetup website.  They do lots of activities.  Although primarily focuses upon singles, they welcome couples too to their social events.

I have been to some real estate and networking events on MeetUp.com.  Each varied - but it was an easy networking opportunity.  I enjoyed meeting some new people and had a nice conversation on marketing.

Mary - I am also a firm believer in face to face networking.  I also think face to face events or community involvement is the best way to find the more loyal clients.  Folks are beginning to feel the old ways of doing business with whom they know, works best for them!

Myrl-Thank you for your comments! Yes, I agree, if your not out there involved with your community how are you going to make connections. It's the balancing thing that's sometimes hard to achieve. Best to you~
