Creative, artistic, great architectural flair BUT deadly??

Drifting out into REO land today I came across another interesting item for my friends on activerain, especially those picky home inspectors that I love, to evaluate.

This is a nice house, actually, and not very old, 4 bedrooms 3 baths, and all the other desirable features that make a house sell.  But when I started to enter it I found these steps.

Dangerous steps

There's no hand rail.  The steps don't go far enough across and they are not uniform in size.  The middle one is just big enough for a toe or two.  The porch is high enough to make it difficult to step up without these doorsteps.  But they are very creative and the rock work was proudly done all around the house.  I just feel that door steps should be safe.  I admit I held onto the side of the wall, which was reachable, as I went in and out of the house.

Mary, you'd never let Perrin do steps like that, would you?

Charles, I agree with you.  I try to be especially careful!

Barbara - They look very unsafe to me.  I'm surprised a builder wouldn't think of that... :)

They're going to have to fix them if they want to sell the house. They are pretty....pretty awful.

Debi, this was a guy who may have been building his dream home.  I don't know since it is a foreclosure.

James, you'd write those things up, wouldn't you?

Barbara, not sure these would pass any code.  They are definitely dangerous, and a hazard.  I am sure this would have to be fixed in order to sell the home.

Mrs Barbara,

I did not say I love them...I said I could walk them no problem. I bet I could even do it in my fruit (orange) suit.

Mrs Barbara,

Is there not any fruit outfit I can wear that will meet with your approval. I love fruit outfits, yet you show your displeasure with me. What if I dressed as a vegetable?

Now Nutsy, I love that zoot zuit!   It is you!!!   And that investigator one is NICE!!  When you come to Searcy to check out your newly purchased condo, you need to dress appropriately.  Southern people are strange.   A squirrel in a vegetable suit may get boiled!  Or fried!   Or pickled!

Mrs Barbara,

Thank you for the support against that vindictive Mr James. He hassles some of us, especially me. I am posting a photo that proves that I was able to use those steps without falling, while dressed in my fruit outfit.

So there Mr James, I would like to see you do that in the same outfit.

No, Nutsy, you have not conquered those steps.  It's a long way down from where you are.  I think you got Mr. Charles to make a fake picture for you.  You have to prove to me with a video!  But you do look cute, you little devil, you!
