Our basic our aim, in particular with our themes of highlighting various cultures is to share SOLID KNOWLEDGE that hopefully will aid your quest of learning something that perhaps you never knew, or reminding you of things you may have forgotten, but more important get you to think and engage!!!!!

Today our focus will be on the JUNETEENTH

Juneteenth Stamp

June what you may be thinking?????? Read more as while Americans celebrate the 4th of July as Independence Day, African-Americans celebrate Juneteenth as their celebration as that was the day Africans in America who were Slaves received their freedom.

Throughout the years Juneteenth has increased in popularity and like Kwanzaa it has a specific cultural disctinction among African-Americans, even though many Americans join in and celebrate as part of their cultural awarness in better understanding the many people and culture who develop our nation.

When blacks stop being distracted and separating themselves from the rest of America by their skin color, they will be able to accomplish more.  Someone has to admit and accept the difference in then and now.

Heath - thanks for sharing your comments.  The intent of our information is to educate.  Nevertheless, we respect everyone's perspective or opinion or whatever is affecting their inability to appreciate the culutural distinctions that make us all proud Americans.  We welcome your Blog on why you feel any group who celebrates cultural events are separating themselves from "the rest of America" when in fact they are American!!!!!!!!

Cheers
