It's been a month since my first blog post on active rain. I'm sure my ActiveRain story isn't that much different than thousands of other users, but I want to take a minute to reflect on my progress, because it's important to recognize one's own milestones.
In looking back over the past month, I'm struck by how easy it's been to be consistent at blogging. Initially I expected it to be hard to sit down and actually produce content that people might be interested in on a daily basis. But as the days passed the task actually became a joy. I think one of the smartest things Active Rain has done is institute a point system. For me, it is a true motivator.
My first goal when starting was to reach the 10k mark. I'm glad to say, today I met that goal. The point system was a constant reminder that I needed to march forward in my blogging efforts. It put a visual and measurable exclamation point on my momentum.
After a month of consistent activity, I'm really glad that I decided to make Active Rain my primary blogging platform. It's true that the businesses that I work with aren't all tied to real estate. Many are in totally unrelated fields, but this hasn't deminished the value of Active Rain to my business at all. ActiveRain gives me unparalleled exposure to potential partners who's businesses are tied to real estate, and an untouchable level of "Google Juice", as Todd Clark would say.
I'm really looking forward to the coming months and years. I can't wait to see what opportunities and exposure my blogging will lead to!
