Alameda is on HGTV's "My house is worth what?"....and all I can think of is....

I've got to go on a diet!

Ah, vanity...and a cold dose of reality. They say TV puts on 10 lbs on you. But after seeing myself, it looks like I've gained 100 lbs!

My house is worth what?

The show is "My house is worth what?" and it aired tonight at 11 pm EST/PST, and will air again this Sunday at 7pm.

Tonight's episode is about "Assessing the Value of Various Renovations", For this segment, my clients' duet  (but the show calls it a duplex!) was featured. Even after the remodeling they've done and still doing, their property is worth $100K LESS than what they paid for it 3 years ago, And we don't see that improving any time soon.

Discover Ahhhh-lameda!

Seriously...it was wonderful to have our island city of Alameda have a bit of exposure since this is somewhat of a "secret" island on San Francisco Bay.

Although the featured home on tonight's show is a contemporary duet, what Alameda is famous for is its collection of vintage homes -- Victorians, Tudors and Craftsman. Add to that our many sunny days, wonderful weather, and close proximity to San Francisco. So come on down!

Pacita....

I'm going to try to remember to catch this on Sunday. BTW, if you send me a reminder email on Sunday morning, I'll email the entire group so they can catch this episode!

Pacita, that is so cool, congratulations!  I tried to find it on the comcast listings for tonight at 11 and Sunday at 7PM, it wasn't either place... So I set all future to record, but those times don't seem right for our area anyway - and I am pretty sure Alameda is on the same time schedule as Oakland...  Anyway, just thought you might want to recheck.  I am excited for you and for Alameda and East Bay Real Estate!

Antonio --- my family is wishing I had TIVO'd it. Would/could have, if we have a TIVO. That's one technology tool I haven't succumbed to yet. Looking forward to the tango!

Matt --- thought it was funny when my friends on the east coast called to tell me they saw me on TV. That reminded me to tune in later that evening to catch the show on the west coast.

Just saw you on HGTV, Pacita!  Even though I don't "know" you - it was like watching a friend on TV because I read your posts  a lot :)  You did a great job!

A bit late to respond to Shelton....but thanks!

Kristina -- I actually filmed two episodes: one in Richmon and the other in Alameda. I am constantly surprised when people tell me they just saw me on tv. They must re-run that quite often. Thanks! As a side note: I still need to go on a diet.
