Andy and I did a tour the other day of the nearly open high exclusive resort villas and hotel called the Banyan Tree Mexico.  Banyan Tree is located inside the grounds of the Paul Norman designed golf course called El Camaleon.  Rich Beem is the picked favorite at this time to be taking the lead during the next 4 days of this exciting PGA top golfing tournament.

Mayakoba Riviera Maya Real Estate Update

Riviera Maya Real EstateIncredible.  You arrive from the main entrance and the suburban truck will take you through a small paved road that winds into the Yucatan jungle.  Every so often you catch a glimpse of either a fairway or a small bridge that crosses the intertwining canal system throughout the entire grounds.  While you stay in these plush villas that are set over the canals, you move around the resort areas by either small ecological boats, bicycles, or taxi golf carts.  These paths and waterways take you either to the beach clubs, over 20 restaurants, the golf club, or numerous other eco friendly activities.  This is what many people imagine as a Mexico retirement location, or a winter second home gateaway.  Easy maintenance, resort living escapes.

Banyan Tree Mexico:  The First Resort in the Americas

One of the main reasons that Banyan Tree chose the Mayakoba community to establish their first resort in all of the Americas is for the high attention to the ecology and the preservation.  See Post Banyan Tree Mexico Prepares for the Mayakoba PGA Golf Tournament.  In the center of the main reception, an actual Banyan Tree is growing nearly 10 meters high on its own little island.  From this point people can board the small boats to begin exploring the canals throughout the golf course and mangroves.  The beach clubs are fantastic.  Views onto the Caribbean Beaches are unforgettable.

We are going to keep an update on how the tournament plays out.  Not sure about the pictures as it appears that they have security that is not allowing cameras nor videos to be captured during play.  But it is exciting to see how Mexico is becoming involved in the PGA circuit over the past several years, and for many years to come as well as the grapevine says they are looking to change the dates next year to increase publicity due to last 2 years success and interest.  Any golfers out there?  Give us ring and we can introduce you to over 8 new golf courses that are being introduced in and around the Playa del Carmen real estate market here in the Riviera Maya.

cheers!
