10 Things to Consider When Working with a Real Estate Virtual Assistant

Virtual Assistants specialize in different things.  So you may need more than one for your needs.  Here are some questions to ask and/or keep in mind...

  1. What is the VA's specialty?
  2. Do they respond to your inquiry in a timely manner?
  3. Are they a 'one-man' shop (this could cause delays)
  4. How do they communicate with you?
  5. Ask for references
  6. Does their website have a professional appeal?
  7. Do you get a good feeling about their personality while in the assessment phase?
  8. Do they communicate clearly?
  9. Are they available for phone calls/questions? (fyi...it might be by appt.)
  10. How long have they been a virtual assistant?

Also, keep in mind that the virtual assistant is asking many of these same things about you while in the assessment phase.

Not every agent is cut out to work with a VA.  If you tend to micro-manage or you take a long time to reply to emails/phone calls, etc. a VA might not be right for you.

Keep in mind. a real estate agent-virtual assistant relationship is collaborative in nature.

Good Luck!

Hi Sarah-Thanks for your list.  I've used VA's for about 5 years now.  What a blessing!  Your list is very valuable.  It is important to find just the right blend of agnt and VA.

Hi Marlene,

When you give your VA a new sale what exactly do you give them? A copy of the contract and they go with it? Or do they require more info. Do they have a form for you to follow?

Thanks and have a great day.
