hmm nowadays I am sure they are thinking about a lot of things, like what happened to my 401k :-)

Probably something along the lines of: "How could they let it get this bad?"

3:08pm • #2

They are thinking that everything that they fought for, sacrificed, and we gave it away.  One of them could have been hung for being a traitor because he put his butt out on the line for a vision that thsoe in the colonies came to America for ..... certain rights and privileges; to be represented not sold out to the highest paying supporter or lobbyist.   What's that saying?  "Pride comes before Fall".

What would they say:  That we are loosers and we SOLD THEM OUT!

I think that they would be seriously ticked off.  They SPECIFICALLY warned against Democracy as being mob rule and the end of freedom.  We are on the edge of ruining their dream.

Jessica,

I was in Rushmore once. Really cool at night. As the political climate swings, both ways, hard to know what they think. Maybe they would be split.

Does that sign say "Watch for falling rocks"? Just kidding! Seriously though, is anyone looking at a sign on the side of the road when they can look at Rushmore?

I picture them like the ad, many years ago, of an American Indian with tears running down his face at the pollution and littering.   We have a lot to be thankful for, but also a lot to answer for.

Yes, what would they think if they were here now.   I was taking this real seriously, until I got to Charles.  That was funny.  I don't think they would be laughing right now.  What a mess we have made.
