Having fun and not getting into trouble........ yet... I DO NEED HELP WITH A VIDEO.... updated

By
Home Stager with Stage-Show-Sell

I've been playing with different ways to shoot photos and do the Real Estate Shows.

That program has come a long way in the past year or so.

One of the ways that I've been playing is to create pans with my camera held side ways.  These shots take in the ceiling and floors real well.

The ceiling is a little warped but outside of that I think it's good.

finished basement

kitchen

I'm really pleased with this one.   Ceiling is great.  No distortion

living room

This is where I need help.   Is there a way to rotate a movie like we can rotate a photo??

Virginia,,,I must respond as Carol Cane just had me review this, but I am sorry I can't help with the rotate of a video. I have never shot video that required me to do such a thing..Not to be smart, I just turned my monitor 90 degrees and I know that is not a satisfactory answer. I commend you for your efforts and growth in video and photography.  I suspect the day I have to deal with this issue you will have it all resolved. I always shoot my video as it will be used, yet I edit the flaws out, add transitions, music, sounds, etc. I am far better at photo editing than video...but keep going with it as quality video is where's it's at. I plan to add loads of video to my sites soon. I agree though...real estate shows works well.

Melissa, Thanks for your compliments.  It's been a lot of fun

Cathy, It's not easy and hopefully with this new blog it won't be so complicated.

Type in your blog.......save as draft. ......open in edit and switch to html on the tabs............ paste inyour html for you tube.     Save again for the public viewing and it should work.

If you want to type more into the blog after the movie...............save as draft.  ........open in edit and switch to the tab that says WYSISYG  (what you see if what you get)

type in what you want and save again for the public or members only.

Hope this helps.   I can walk you thur on the phone too.

Drew, I'll definitely let you know if I figure this out

Carol, thanks for you help

Hi Virginia,

I was going to say that to rotate your video clip you would need something like Adobe After Effects. But I just read somewhere that you can do it in Windows Movie Maker. I don't know anthing about that program, but it might be worth checking out.

Virigina:
There will be drawbacks to rotating it - in the final size.  It will only be as high as it is wide... If that makes any sense.  I will have some thing for you shortly to view.

Michael, how did you do it?

It's narrow and it's great.   My goal was to get the ceilings and the floors in at the same time and it's there.

Tell ME how!!  Don't tell Drew becasue he promised me lunch :-)

Virginia:
I want every one to understand, I am a bit of a geek.  And one of my hobbies is converting videos.  This started when I quickly realized that 2yr olds and DVDs were not a good mix.  And when we purchased Shrek II - and it had 17 minutes of commercials that you could not forward through, I vowed to never stand for that again.  So I have quite an arsenal of tools on my Home PC.

First tried NeroVision - I am comfortable with it.  But it would not do want you needed.

So I did try Windows Movie Maker, like Michael suggested.  It was pretty simple once I was able to get the video imported. I just put the whole video on the timeline. Then there's a drop down menu in the middle - when I clicked on it, it showed  a star, and "Video Effects".  One of the effects is called Rotate90.  I dragged it to each set of frames in the timeline, and Viola!

I really want to learn Adobe Premiere, I just don't have the time. :(

Have a good Weekend!

Michael,  I have a love/ hate relationship with you :-)

Love you because you took me down the right path but not enough that I didn't have to work on it.

You are like my boys ages 33 - 40 where they throw me a bone and I have to hunt for it :-)

I tried, because of Michael Cole, Eindows movie maker and just couldn't do it.

You pushed me just a little bit further.

I imported it into WMM and dropped it into the Storyboard. Then I went into Tools and Effects.  I had to rotate it 90 degrees and then 180 degrees for it to work.

Now after all of this... I hope the house sells fast.

Thanks again to all on AR.

Drew, you owe me lunch

Morning, Viriginia:

I won't take the love/hate thing too seriously... This always happens when I try to explain some thing techie to some one who is not techie.  I make many assumptions and have a hard time breaking it down to the smallest pieces.

Glad it worked out for you though!

Marianne, I was nervous too walking down those stairs.   Camera in my right hand and the hand rail to the basement was on the right.   I could have broken my tukas (sp) if I fell.
