My mom and I email each other often, and she usually sends me all sorts of humorous stuff about real estate, home inspections, and pets. Some of it is off the wall and can't be republished at a family site like ActiveRain. Today I got an email about the skeleton of a man found inside a chimney of a home up in San Bernardino County where she lives. The home had been vacant for three years after the previous owner died (probably probate problems at a minimum), and the skeleton was found during renovations by the new owner. Investigators say there were no signs of foul play and that the man has been dead for about two years. They have no idea who he is. Just another reason to get a thorough home inspection. ***** If you need help buying or selling a home anywhere in San Diego County, please contact me. Guess a home inspector never knows what they will discover. That is really alarming. I've heard of burglars going down a chimney and getting caught and then suing the owner. Who ever said that the chimney was a property gateway to enter the home?
If that doesn't make you think twice about becoming a home inspector, I don't know what would....
Wow, now that would be a surprise to find. You may expect like a dead rodent, but a human being, jeez!
That is so sad, but at least he was finally found! I always offer and recommend a home inspection, and no one gets out of my office unless they sign off that they were offered one!
Wow...I don't know about you, but I find that very creepy!!!
Happy Thursday!!

That is quite a story. The worst I personally heard was a home inspection which discovered a huge boa constrictor in the attic of a home! scary.
Jim, That is really sad, and scary, Hope they find out who he is so if he has any family they would know what happened to him. Have a great weekend.
Hi Jim - Me oh my - I did a search on "skeleton chimney" and it seems this isn't a first. I guess it must be burglaries gone bad. Horrible thought. Now I'm going to go track down those funny smells in my house...
