Davidson just seems to know how to do it right...they have nurtured their old Main Street small college town atmosphere, preserved their historic buildings and carefully designed their new growth communities to compliment the sense of community that is so valuable to them.  It's all about walking, nature, health and exercise and a quality of life that is hard to replicate!
