The National Joke is the politics in Illinois. First, you have George Ryan spending time in the big house for crimes against the tax payer. Then Obama gets elected leaving Chicago almost bankrupt and Illinois on the way to a record $11 Billion Dollar deficit. Rod Blagoevich-after the impeachment (AN IMPEACHMENT-WITHOUT A TRIAL (ANOTHER MAJOR JOKE)). Well Rod has been the hit of the national speaking circuit since being freed from "serving our state, while his predecessor is serving time in minimum security learning macrame in an orange jump suit.
THAT BRINGS US TO NOW:
Roland Burris- Illinois' new senator that was appointed by Blagoevich just before he was removed. Prior to the Blagojevich speaking circuit, the Gov appointed Burris to replace Obama as another fine Senator. Since the appointment of Burris, it's been discovered that big boy Burriss attempted to do some fund raising for Blagoevich, despite his claims that he never raised funds for Blago....
THAT BRINGS TO THE NOWER OF THE NOW IN ILLINOIS:
Todayit was discovered that during the time Burris was fundraising for DA GOV...., Blagoevich appointed Burris' son to the position of COOK COUNTY HOUSING COUNSELORat a salary of $75,000 a year. Nepotism at it's best....er....crony-ism at its best!
THAT BRINGS US TO THE COOK COUNTY DATABASE.....
One of my best branch managers wrote me on this today. As he states,
"This impacts my business in that every loan I do in Cook county (where my branch is) must be registered into a database and then Cook county determines whether or not my borrower's need counseling. It is such a joke. To add insult to injury- they found out that Burris' son, at the time he was appointed to this position, was having his own house foreclosed on. So my intelligent and well qualified borrowers are being counseled by someone who doesn't pay their mortgage. And of course- these "counselors" have full access to the entire loan application including social security numbers, etc."
Thanks to our politicians, Illinois seems to get worse and worse as the days go on. Thanks guys...you've made my career more difficult and you have been horrible examples to our youth.
