Spring Time Maintenance

Now that spring time is here, it is a good time to think about doing some maintenance on your home.  One item that you may have overlookd last fall, was cleaning the gutters and downspouts.  With spring time comes rain.  By cleaning you gutters and downspouts, and possible having any damaged items replaced now, you may be able to keep the water running off of your roofs from leaking into you basements and damaging your properties value.  even if you are not thinking of selling your home, doing this now will help head off possible higher maintenance costs in the future.  While cleaning and checking these items, also make sure that the downspouts keep the water at least 18 inches away from the base of your home.  Some home owners may find it to be a good investment to also have drainage tile installed around the base of their home to take the water runoff as far away as possible.  Remember, Your Home is still Your best Investment.
