Rocky Mountain Post Closing its Doors

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with BeFirst Media Group

After 150 years of reporting the news, "The Rocky Mountain Post" will cease its publication today, February 27th.  Forced to close its doors after a continuous drop in circulation, the paper sights the increase in the use of the internet for news as the reason.

Always considered the "scrappy" newspaper in the Colorado region, and with even winning  4 Pulitzer Prizes, the traditional paper could not hang on.  The sad fact is that many traditional newspapers in this country are for sale or headed towards bankruptcy with no buyers in sight.  Economists predict that many more will see their doors close.

The times are a changing!  Internet newspapers & magazines are where America is getting its news.  While the increase in use of the internet for news is exciting for internet publications like The Grapevine..comno one likes to see the demise of their local paper.

Whether it's the news, advertising your business, or even posting a classified listing, the internet is where its happening.  We at www. westernmontana grapevine.com are excited about being able to serve the Kalispell area communities' needs.  We look forward to being your resource for news, events, commentary and advertising

Sad to hear that.  The good thing to come out of it is saving trees.  Eventually all newspapers will be obsolete.

Sad to hear that a business that has been able to hold on for 150 years is now going out of business.
